What colour is the Rain water?

Its probably first or second year of my school life, I distinctly remember teacher asking the question to the whole class room. What colour is the rain water? There goes my hand immediately up in  the air, Once teacher picked me,I say 'Orange!', The whole class went into laughter to my surprise, I am pretty sure the last time i saw it was orange. The teacher replied you shouldn't see the water thats's already touched the ground or roof, you should see the untouched rain straight from sky. The teacher is correct, I saw these tiny drops of water from our thatched house roofed with the dried palm leaves. Probably it become old and brittle which could have contributed to the colour of the rain water. But when i think of that moment, monsoon season, cloudy skies, here i am sitting in the so called 'thinnai' - a little mud bench at the side of the entrance of my hut house sitting on top of the hen coup, playing with drops of 'orange' rain water drops. My aaya (grandma) sitting at the other end of the thinnai munching her beetle leaves. Recollecting this memory of a childhood day brings so much peace to my heart, the sound of rain hitting the thatched roof, warm tropical rain shower, a worry less simple life, Truly earth is the heaven when your life is lived mindfully.
